Château Minuty has just finished its brand new cellar and tank room. François and Jean-Etienne Matton are justifiably enthusiastic, saying
« It's the largest investment we've made over the past two decades and will give us the means to take our wine making to another level, in particular for the red wines ». This high-tech installation fits in perfectly with the highly protected landscape of the Saint- Tropez peninsula; we used old terracotta tiles for the roof on a wooden frame and roughcast on the walls that all blend in with the natural colours of the earth. Concerned with sustainable development, we chose to build using perfectly insulating single layer bricks and to conform to eco-friendly practices for recycling the waste water and viticultural waste by-products. The transfer of production to the new cellars has enabled us to free up technical space in the main house, to improve hospitality for visitors at the château and to launch a new and dynamic wine tourism programme.. |
